Rationale for the Joint Venture:
Welltrain commenced operations in 2009 setting a benchmark in Well Control training in Australia. Welltrain has its roots with University of New South Wales (UNSW) – a leading School of PetroleumEngineering which has been delivering Well Control Training for 20 years. Welltrain parent companies both have well established roots in the drilling industry – Labrador Petro‐Management Pty Ltd (LPM) and Horizon Resources International (HRI) respectively. LPM has been providing Drilling Project Management and consulting Services in Australia for 29 years and HRI is a leader in rig inspection and commissioning services in Australia and new‐build drilling rig construction and conversion in Southeast Asia. The depth of experience within Welltrain ensures training is relevant and up to date with current drilling and engineering technology.
Welltrain has the largest fleet of drilling well control simulators in Australasia with three complete drill floor simulators permanently located in three states of Australia and plans for a 4th simulator to be commissioned by the end of 2016. In addition to the full size simulators Welltrain
Welltrain has a large fleet of portable and transportable simulators – to bring training to wherever it is
